The Horticultural Society of New York presents the 6th Annual Urban Agriculture Conference, May 28 & 29, 2015.
By the year 2030, it is predicted that sixty percent of the global population will live in cities. Feeding those people will become more challenging without innovative solutions for growing and distributing food in urban environments. This year, the Urban Agriculture Conference will highlight farms and projects that have successfully navigated the sometimes difficult waters of the urban agriculture movement. Farmers are raising vegetables, fruits, bees, and even livestock in cities where space, funds, and resource are all limited. This year’s conference will highlight the different forms urban agriculture can take and their effects on the ever-changing food system. Join us for two days of panel discussions, workshop, and demonstrations as we work to improve access to locally grown, fresh food in cities.
